Located off the coast of Cairns on tropical Fitroy Island in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef, Fitzroy Island Resort is the perfect destination for a tropical island escape.

Fitzroy Island Resort offers a variety of room types all including air conditioning, marble tiled bathrooms and plasma TV's. Choose from Resort Studio Rooms, Beach Cabins located on the beachfront, luxurious Ocean Suites or the spectacular four bedroom Penthouse Suite.

The resort includes a large pool with swim-up bar, modern restaurant overlooking Welcome Bay, games room, internet cafe and mini supermarket stocked with the essentials.

Fitzroy Island is a listed National Park and boasts of white sand beaches, clear calm waters and tropical rainforest. Guests have the opportunity to explore the Great Barrier Reef, walk the tropical rainforest tracks and discover stunning lookouts, or hire snorkelling and kayaking equipment to enjoy the sheltered waters and abundant marine life.

We just got back from a weekend at Fitzroy Island and it was fantastic. The rooms are amazing, the staff was very friendly and the surrounding perfect. If you like to get away for a quite and relaxing weekend it is the perfect place. We will go back, hopefully soon. Getting There

45 min (29kms) ferry ride from Cairns. Surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Daily ferry services depart from Cairns Reef Terminal at 10am (check in by 9.30am). Return ferry departs the Island at 4.30pm. Ferry transfers need to be pre-booked.

Return fares are $65 per person ($30 per child up to 12 years).

Alternatively, you can take your own boat. Secure moorings are available for private boats.

1 Bedroom Resort Studio
Resort Studios are open-plan rooms with a marble tiled ensuite bathroom. Resort Studio features include air conditioning, ceiling fans, plasma TV, tea/coffee making facilities and a bar fridge.

Bedding configuration is 1 King bed or 2 Single beds. Maximum occupancy is 2 guests.

1 Bedroom Ocean Suite
Ocean Suites are luxuriously appointed suites which open onto a large balcony boasting beautiful ocean views. Ocean Suite features include a lounge area, dining area, kitchenette, marble tiled bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fans and a plasma TV.

Bedding configuration is 1 Queen bed and 1 Sofa bed. Maximum occupancy is 4 guests.

2 Bedroom Beach Cabin
Beach Cabins are situated on the beach and open onto a large balcony boasting beautiful ocean views. Beach Cabin features include two well appointed bedrooms, marble tiled bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fans, plasma TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

Bedding configuration is 1 Queen bed and 2 Single beds. Maximum occupancy is 2 guests.

2 Bedroom Ocean Suite
Ocean Suites are luxuriously appointed suites which open onto a large balcony boasting beautiful ocean views. Ocean Suite features include two well appointed bedrooms, a lounge area, dining area, kitchenette, marble tiled bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fans and a plasma TV.

Bedding configuration is 2 Queen beds and 1 Sofa bed, or 2 Queen beds and 2 Single beds. Maximum occupancy is 6 guests.

Penthouse Suite
The four bedroom Penthouse Suite is a luxuriously appointed apartment which has two large balconys boasting spectacular ocean views. The Penthouse features four well appointed bedrooms, a spacious lounge area, dining area, kitchenette, two marble tiled bathrooms, air conditioning, ceiling fans and a plasma TV. The master bedroom features its own spa bath and luxury appointings.

Bedding configuration is available on request. Maximum occupancy is 8 guests.
